Drug Test Yourself at Home

Drug tests are notoriously difficult to get around, and most attempts to beat them fail miserably. In fact, most of the so-called solutions commonly employed to pass a drug test utilize clumsy and outdated methods that can get a sample flagged as negative even before drugs are detected. The chemical solutions that you see advertised in drug-oriented publications are particularly suspect, marketed with catchy slogans and outlandish claims that most simply cannot deliver.

So what are your options for passing a drug test? How can you ensure that the last joint you smoked or the pill that you dropped won’t come back to haunt you on the day of the test?

The simple answer is that there is no 100% guaranteed way to get rid of drugs in your system faster than the prescribed time period. If you have smoked marijuana within the past 2 weeks for example, you will almost certainly test positive for the presence of THC in a test conducted today. The period of time in which marijuana–and other drugs–can be detected in the system increases considerably as well, depending on factors such as your body fat percentage, frequency of use, and amount ingested. Therefore, the only sure way to test negative for drugs is to not use them for at least 45 days before you are to be tested.

A home drug testing kit might actually be helpful, although not necessarily for beating the drug test directly. Such kits are available in most pharmacies and supermarkets, and they can help you detect the presence of drugs in your own sample to a surprisingly accurate degree. They are also relatively inexpensive, so it wouldn’t be a big deal to always have a drug testing kit on hand to monitor the presence of drugs in your system.

If you have an impending drug test, a home testing kit wouldn’t really be of much use, whether you test positive or negative. If you only have a few days to go before a drug test, a positive result you get today isn’t likely to change any time soon. Home drug testing kits will therefore only tell you what you will find out soon enough anyway. Nevertheless, being forewarned is being forearmed, and knowing whether you are positive or not will allow you to figure out your legal options.

Home drug testing kits serve another more important purpose, although not in the immediate sense. Even if you do not have a test coming up, knowing how long you will be positive for a particular type of drug is invaluable information. If you know that you will be clear of marijuana after 30 days–and you should test this more than once for the sake of consistency–you will be better ale to determine the window of time in which you can indulge before an upcoming test.

Of course, a home drug testing kit won’t help you get a negative result if you have been using. Those looking for a temporary “fix” for an almost sure to fail drug test should try one of the many detox products available. Many manufacturers offer a temporary detox and a permanent detox option, be sure to pick the option that best suits your specific needs.
